This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.-1 John 3:16-18
It is not enough to say I am praying for you. It is not enough to say that you do not judge others. It is not enough to say I have love for all people. You have to show it. Jesus gave the ultimate declaration of love. He displayed his bruised and beaten body and took the punishment of sin and death. So you can’t just say words to show love. You have to act on it. It does not have to be a grand gesture. You can look someone in the eye and say hello. You can pray with your hurting friend. Give them a “I am thinking of you card.” If someone is in need, why not help them in their time of need. You are not doing works to be liked. You are serving God’s children. ALL OF GOD’S CHILDREN. In this uncertain time, why not display the love of Christ more than just a superficial word.
