A Breath of Fresh Love

A Breath of Fresh Love

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.-John 15:9

When I searched for the definition of Abide, one of the meanings was to endure without yielding. If you did not know, life is not an easy, straight line. It is easy to get lost in what society shows and preaches about. BUT, God still endures. His Word still endures. Jesus loves us so much that He went to a Cross, died, and rose for you and me. Jesus wants us to endure without yielding in this life. BUT, know that we should endure with yielding by God’s standards, not by our own doing. God wants us to have an abundant life according to His truth and purpose. That is why I encourage you to abide in Him.

Abide in Him by reading His Word. Abide with fellow believers in a local church. Abide in Him by praying to Him. Abide in Him through the mountaintops and valleys. With God, all things are possible. Abide in Him and see what He can do through you.

Blissfully,

Bianca

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.-1 Corinthians 13:4-8
I have heard this scripture spoken at weddings but this can apply to any person in any stage of life. Have you ever replaced “Love” with your name? Are you patient? kind? not self-seeking? As I replace love with Bianca, I do not add up because I fall short. I strive to be all these qualities.  Jesus was all these qualities and then some. So do not forget, whether married or single, you are still called to love as Jesus loved and show the qualities and character of love. Ask God to give you those qualities. You can never go wrong with following God.
Blissfully,
Bianca

The 26th Valentine Manifesto

The 26th Valentine Manifesto

via Daily Prompt: Expectation

Expectation

First off, Happy Valentine’s Day from Blissfully Bianca! It is my 26th Single Lady Valentine’s Day. The older I get, the more I realize that I should not settle.

For many years, I expected for love to be like the movies. I expected to find someone to post cute selfies/written posts about my valentine. I expected to hold hands, go on dates, get flowers, etc. I only saw the superficial love that I saw around me. It took time for me to realize that love was not  just the physical. It was the emotional, spiritual, and relational

I expected that love would be complete with a person. WRONG!! A person would not complete my life. Only God could do that.

I expected to be a certain way in order to find someone. WRONG!! I needed to love myself and the person God created me to be. I needed to realize that I should not waiver on the standards I want for a God-fearing man.

I expected that I should “put myself out there and go into the dating pool to see what I like. I needed to realize that I do not like games and temporary fixes to make me worthy enough to date. It’s ok to not date the frogs, lizards, chameleons, and pigs. God is the one who determines and directs my steps to my husband.

I expected that if I was not married with children by 30, I  would an old maid. I realize that my season of life is finishing school, finding out the woman I want to be, living independently, and figuring out what I like in life. Life does not end in my 20s. My life is continuing to change and will continue. No old maid here.

To sum up my Manifesto: A romantic relationship is not the sum total of your being. It is the part of the blessing that God has given you. God is (and should be) the sum total of your life. He loves you more in a lifetime than any other person. He sent His Only Son to do the ultimate sacrifice to save sinners like you and me. That is love!! So if you are single, taken, engaged, it’s complicated, brokenhearted, or so in love, Jesus is still madly in love with you. There is wholeness in Him. No matter how much you mess up, He still loves you.

No matter what your expectations are, God’s expectations for your life and Valentine’s Day are higher and better. You are still valuable and loved. You are awesome and fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator. God is still writing your life and love story. Love, trust, and believe in Him and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Blissfully,

Bianca

A Breath of Fresh Love

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.-1 Corinthians 13:1-3

Love should be the language you use to live life. Authentic love comes from God. From your heart stems everything you do.

Jesus is the standard of love. If you read the Bible, you see that Jesus did perform miracles and He had compassion which made the difference. He loved the “sinners” where they were.  He told the “sinners” you don’t have to be where you are; you can be better.  He rebuked the bullies, dusted the “sinner” off, encouraged them, and called them to live as free in Christ Jesus.

Don’t be a clanging cymbal saying Jesus is Love when you treat your neighbor like trash. It is superficial, fake, and not the message of Christ. You do not have to do a grand act.  Show respect. Listen to others. Don’t curse and bully people on social media. The list goes on and on. Have the right intentions to love and serve others. God said it clearly: If you do not have love, you gain nothing.

Blissfully,

Bianca

When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.-John 13: 12-17

So to give you context, in this passage, Jesus is washing his disciple’s feet. Jesus, without hesitation, did the job that was beneath His glory. It did not matter to Him that people questioned why because He knew why. Our world needs the weird love. By weird love, I mean to go outside of our comfort zone and help our brothers and sisters who are not the same. We live in a world with many different tribes, ethnicities, religions, and ideals. No person is greater than another. Jesus reached out, loved his disciples, served his disciples, and went to the Cross for the disciples and ALL of humanity. That my friends is love and service.  Jesus IS the standard of loving and serving people. So I would encourage you to love outside of your bubble.

Blissfully,

Bianca

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.-1 John 4:18-19
If you did not know, God loved you before anyone in humanity. He established His love when He created you in His image. Do not fear that you are alone for Valentine’s Day. God is the One who can fill your heart. God is the One who drives out fear. God calls you, Beloved. God made the standard for love. So just in case you did not know, you have a Savior who loves and values you.
Blissfully,
Bianca
