In this season of giving, do not forget to give. Christmas can get commercialized and lose its meaning in the hustle and bustle of Christmas excitement. Something I like to do is give Christmas cards. Yeah I know…I receive Christmas cards all the time, you say. Yes, but I hand-write my cards with a specialized message. AND I love giving the cards in person if I can. You can never go wrong with giving someone a handwritten card. The look on a person’s face always makes me giddy. This is just one example. It is the simple things you can do for someone that makes Christmas and every day special.

I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.-Psalm 9:1

It is November, the season of thankfulness and pondering on the blessings of life. Now, every day should be a day to give thanks, but I know things are emphasized more during this season.

There is enough going on in the world to gripe and complain about. International crises, famine, poverty, injustice, political regimes, racism, and everything in between. It is enough to make your head spin and ask God, “Where are you in all this?”

But the truth is: He is in the midst and still working. Though things may be bad, there are good things God is doing to and through us.

Whether it is a new job, new baby, financial provision, new relationship, or something just as simple as waking up with breath in your body, God is doing good…no…GREAT THINGS in each of us.

It is important to speak on the blessings that God grants us. It does something to you and me. And it is biblical. All throughout Scripture, we see followers of the faith speak on God’s greatness because He truly sustains humanity and our world. And so will I.

I will speak on the goodness of Jesus Christ because He truly blesses me, sustains me, and keeps me going.

Join me on this journey of thankfulness this month for “I Thank My God For Series.”

Bianca

So many people have been vocal about how 2016 was horrible. But, there is always hope in Jesus Christ for every need at any place in your life.

I will combat the negativity of 2016 with some Scripture on hopefulness for 2017.

This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.-Isaiah 43:16, 18-19

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.-Jeremiah 29:11

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.-Hebrews 11:1

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.-Matthew 11:28
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.-Psalm 31:24

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.-Romans 5:3-4

Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.-Isaiah 40:30-31

Know this hope. Speak this hope in your life. Our world and society can be a dark place but the light of Christ can change and transform that darkness into LIGHT.

Blissfully,
