Dancing with Thankfulness

Dancing with Thankfulness

As long as you are living and breathing,

Do a little caper.

Whether it’s a little jig or a full out dance party.

God has given you new mercies.

God has given you grace.

God has given you purpose.

Caper

Relying On the His Breath of Fresh Air

Relying On the His Breath of Fresh Air

Living and being independent can cause me to lose sight of relying on God.  The Great I Am requires obedience and reliance on His abilities alone. Easier said than done. My abilities are based on reliance on God, not my own human merit.

I am learning that I am not in control. It is savage to think I can save myself and function without God….because I can’t (and you can’t either). It takes daily death to self to attain more reliance on Him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.-Proverbs 3:5-8

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.-Proverbs 16:8-9

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.-Psalm 121:1-2
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.-Proverbs 19:21

Freed From His Fresh Air

Freed From His Fresh Air

Hi All!!

It is 4th of July weekend: Fireworks, Barbecue, Red, White, and Blue everywhere, Flags, “God Bless America.” Yes, there are people who fought for freedom but not everyone receives freedom at the same time. There are various people groups who still struggle for freedom in 2017. But the beautiful thing is Jesus already established freedom for all 2,000 years ago. Anyone who is in Christ is FREE!!!  We can scamper with the assurance of the freedom of Jesus. Yes, we still live in a fallen world but we have a hope and a future…and freedom.

Justice and Freedom will be in Heaven with the Giver of Freedom. I leave you with Scripture of Freedom:

2 Corinthians 3:17-Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Hebrews 12:1-2-Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

John 8:36-So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Galatians 5:13-14-You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

Galatians 5:1-It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Ephesians 3:12-In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

My Blissful, Sunny Birthday!!!

My Blissful, Sunny Birthday!!!

A sunny, new horizon has risen because God has granted me another year of life. It’s my Birthday!!!  I am officially 27 years old.

14540394_124495898038637_931410297187467264_n

It feels great and scary but God has fulfilled, continues to fulfill, and will fulfill His promises. 27 will be a life-changing year with graduation, bar prep, and who knows what is next. Thankful to still be here.

Never take a birthday for granted. Never take another day on Earth for granted. Each day is a sunny day when you open your eyes and you are still you, breathing, walking, and living.

Sunny

A Breath of Fresh Air Is Possible

A Breath of Fresh Air Is Possible

God has blessed me so far with 26 years of triumphs and challenges, setbacks and comebacks, and  cringe-worthy and life-defining moments. I cannot say “I DID THIS,.” All that has happened is by the grace and divine providence of God.

The Enemy tries to make situations impossible. He fights hard when he knows a breakthrough is coming. Keep going with God as your compass and foundation. Life is possible because of Jesus Christ. Every day is not easy but with God all things are possible.

I encourage you with this scripture for each season of life and for each day. Life is possible.

An Illusion is Not What It Seems

An Illusion is Not What It Seems

Your dreams may seem like an illusion.

It may seem like they are a delusion to the world.

Jesus is not saying “No”

He is saying “Not Now” or “I have something better”

I know the feeling of an illusion sounding more like a delusion.

But don’t give up.

God goes before you.

He is directing your steps.

Your purpose is not an illusion.

God’s preparing the venue, solution, resolution, and conclusion.

A Breath of the Father’s Air

A Breath of the Father’s Air

It is Father’s Day. For some, it is a great time to celebrate dads. For others, it’s a difficult day whether a father is in Heaven, non-existence, or just no where to be found. My father’s father and my mother’s father was absent and distant. And yet, the Heavenly Father loved them so much and carried them through life.

My Heavenly Father sent His only Son to die for you and me. No matter where you are, He loves you unconditionally. He will always be in your corner. He provides and sustains. He is everything and more. Even if you don’t have an earthly father, you do have a Heavenly Father who sits high and loves deeply.

One of my favorite hymns is “How Deep the Father’s Love For Us.”

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon a cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Bianca

The Perfect Paragon

The Perfect Paragon

Jesus is the paragon of excellence.

I wish could I tell you of an earthly example of excellence, but we would all disagree

Jesus lived a perfect life, yet He died for you and me.

He suffered betrayal, denial, and skepticism from the world

Yet He carried on with His Father’s business to completion.

I am free as a result.

I am free indeed.

His excellence saved me.

A Need for Fresh Air

A Need for Fresh Air

There is a stereotype that Christians are always happy and are supposed to be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Well, I am not one of those people. I am a Christian but I am a sinful, fallen human being. There are days where the joy of the Lord is my strength and some days I am weary and tired living in the mundane. I am the latter today.

Real Situation: I woke up not wanting to attend church, not wanting to serve in Guest Services for early service, not wanting to do anything. It was a struggle but I found some strength and will to attend church. In church, my back pain caused me not to stand for long. I just sat and enjoyed service. It felt like a Christian fail with Monday tendencies.  I was just having one of those days.

A wise person once told me “The choice is yours to be happy, sad, or mad…but not to stay there.” Don’t stay in the pain. Use God’s truths to give you strength even in the low points. You may not understand but fight the spirit of doubt and fear with REAL TRUTH.

I may be frustrated and tired but I chose to try not to stay in my emotions. God is still my refuge. I triumph because my Savior is active and alive. I will not be put to shame. I may be sad but I will not be shaken. God is still my Solid Rock and Foundation.  I may be down but I am not out. The Enemy is defeated

So end, I give you Psalm 16:

Keep me safe, my God,
for in you I take refuge.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
I say of the holy people who are in the land,
“They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”
Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods
or take up their names on my lips.

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup;
    you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
nor will you let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Triumph

Bianca

A Breath of Fresh Air

A Breath of Fresh Air

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.-Psalm 119:105

As I was on the open road driving 6 hours from Atlanta to Jacksonville, FL, I was thinking of my mom’s prayer that morning: “Lord, I want to drive Bianca to Florida but I know I have to let her go. I know you will prepare the way for her…even when I am not on this Earth.” (to paraphrase).

I drove thinking about my mom praying for peace because her little girl was changing before her eyes.  My walk with the Lord has caused me to grow and change. The old Bianca seems like a distant memory. I am emerging into a different Bianca.  My parents notice.  Sometimes I feel like I do not recognize the Bianca I am today. I do know that God is doing a good work in me.

It is not easy to step outside of your comfort zone or security. But, Jesus says I will never leave nor forsake you.  He will not reveal the master plan. Instead, He gives you the provision you need for every step. To be where I am took so much faith, prayer, and boldness. Even when I detour, the Holy Spirit brings me back to the path God has called me to walk.

His Word will be the lamp where I walk when I cannot see through trials and difficulty. The darkness does not overcome the light. His Word is a light to illuminate my purpose according to His Will. No matter how distant you are, you can find your way back to Him.

He has the path and the light. In order for His promises to be real to you and me, you just have to take the step of obedience one foot in front of the other.

Be Blessed Friends.

Distant

Bianca
